Facing numerous challenges but undeterred, an 84-strong contingent of Indian para-athletes— the largest ever in the country’s history and a blend of youth and experience— is set to pursue an unprecedented gold rush when the Paralympic Games kick off in Paris on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.
At the Tokyo Paralympics in 2021, India secured a record 19 medals, including five gold, and finished 24th overall. This year, the country is aiming to surpass 25 medals and achieve double-digit golds.
