Two weeks after French swimmer Léon Marchand extinguished the Olympic flame to conclude the Paris Olympics, attention now shifts to the Paralympic flame.
On Saturday, August 24, 2024, the flame will be ignited in Stoke Mandeville, a village northwest of London renowned as the birthplace of the Paralympic Games. From there, it will journey to France, traveling under the English Channel for a four-day relay. The flame will traverse from the shores of the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean beaches, and from the Pyrenees mountains to the Alps.
