Former England batter Graham Thorpe, who passed away at the age of 55 last week, took his own life after a long battle with chronic depression, his wife Amanda revealed. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and Surrey Cricket Club (SCC), where Thorpe spent his entire First-Class career, announced on August 5 that the England veteran of 100 Tests had passed away. Thorpe had stepped away from coaching activities shortly after being appointed Afghanistan’s head coach in March 2022. His condition and the nature of his illness had been kept private until now.
