Australia will host a special one-off Test against England at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in 2027 to mark the 150th anniversary of Test cricket.
“The 150th anniversary Test at the MCG in March 2027 will be a fantastic celebration of the game’s premier format at one of the world’s great sporting venues. We’re excited to host England for this occasion,” said CA CEO Nick Hockley, as reported by cricket.com.au.
Notably, the inaugural Test match was played between England and Australia in March 1877, following the centenary Test in 1977.
