India’s participation in the 2025 Champions Trophy in Pakistan remains uncertain, as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has yet to clarify their plans. Last year, Pakistan co-hosted the Asia Cup under a hybrid model because India declined to travel. India played its matches in Sri Lanka, including the one-sided final, which they won. Reports suggest that India might not participate in next year’s Champions Trophy.
In response to the reports, former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Kamran Akmal has argued that if a country like Australia can visit Pakistan, India should also follow suit.
“If Australia can travel to Pakistan, why can’t India? The India-Pakistan bilateral series should take place. Both governments need to have discussions. This would benefit cricket,” Akmal told the Times of India.
