
During his Independence Day speech on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that India is aspiring to host the 2036 Olympics, with preparations already in progress. He also extended congratulations to the athletes who represented India at the Paris 2024 Olympics and offered his best wishes to those set to compete in the upcoming Paralympics. “Today, we have with us the youth who made the Indian flag fly high at the Olympics. I extend my best wishes to all our Paralympians… India’s successful hosting of the G20 Summit has shown that we have the capacity to organize large-scale events.
