Former wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik was signed by the Paarl Royals on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, for the third season of the SA20, making him the first Indian cricketer to join the South African league. The season is set to start on January 9.
At 39, Karthik retired from all forms of cricket in June this year. Since his retirement, he has been appointed as a mentor and batting coach for the IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore.
