Despite this, the Harmanpreet Singh-led team made a strong comeback by defeating Spain 2-1 to secure their second consecutive bronze medal at the Games. Reflecting on the win, midfielder Hardik acknowledged their disappointment at not winning gold but emphasized that they still value the bronze. The victory also marked a fitting farewell for their goalkeeper, PR Sreejesh, who played a crucial role in their bronze medal success.
