International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach commented on Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat’s disqualification from the women’s 50 kg wrestling final at the Paris Olympics, stating that they will “adhere to the Court of Arbitration for Sport’s (CAS) decision.” Vinesh was scheduled to compete against the USA’s Sarah Ann Hildebrandt for the gold medal, but was disqualified on Wednesday for exceeding the weight limit by just 100 grams. Following her disqualification, Phogat appealed to the CAS to be awarded the silver medal.
