Nishant Dev was knocked out in quarterfinal bout at the Paris Olympics on Saturday.

India's Nishant Dev lost his quarterfinal bout in 71kg category(AFP)

The 23-year-old Indian world championship bronze medalist lost by a 1-4 split decision to his second-seed Mexican opponent in the quarterfinal at the North Paris Arena. Nishant is the fifth Indian boxer to exit the Olympic Games. With Nishant’s defeat, Vijender Singh remains the only Indian men’s boxer to have won an Olympic medal.
