India’s Lakshya Sen fell short in the men’s badminton singles semi-final:

In the men’s badminton singles semi-final at the Paris 2024 Olympics, defending Olympic champion Viktor Axelsen of Denmark showcased his exceptional skill and experience by defeating India’s Lakshya Sen with scores of 22-20 and 21-14. Axelsen’s victory secured his place in the final, where he will aim to retain his Olympic title.

Lakshya Sen, who has been a standout performer throughout the tournament, fought valiantly but fell short against the formidable Danish player. Despite a strong start and competitive play in the first game, Sen was unable to maintain the momentum as Axelsen’s precision and tactical prowess ultimately proved too much. The first game was closely contested, with Sen pushing Axelsen to the brink, but the Danish champion edged ahead to take the win. In the second game, Axelsen’s dominant play was evident as he secured a more decisive victory, clinching his spot in the final.

Following this result, Lakshya Sen now shifts his focus to the bronze medal match. He will face Lee Zii Jia of Malaysia, who will be eager to seize the opportunity to claim a medal. Sen’s match against Lee Zii Jia promises to be an exciting contest as both players have demonstrated exceptional skills throughout the tournament. The bronze medal match will be a crucial one for Sen as he looks to finish strong and secure a podium position in what has been a remarkable Olympic journey.
