Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty were defeated in the men’s doubles quarterfinals at the Paris 2024 Olympics, falling to Malaysia’s Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik with scores of 21-13, 14-21, 16-21.

In a highly anticipated match, Rankireddy and Shetty started strongly, clinching the first game 21-13. However, the momentum shifted in the second game as Chia and Soh, currently ranked World No. 3, made a strong comeback to win 21-14.

The third game proved to be a hard-fought battle, with both pairs displaying high levels of skill and determination. Despite their best efforts, Rankireddy and Shetty struggled to maintain their earlier form, allowing the Malaysian duo to secure a 21-16 victory and advance to the semifinals.

This loss ends a promising campaign for the Indian pair, who had shown impressive form leading up to the quarterfinals. The defeat highlights the intense competition at the Paris Olympics and the challenges faced by top athletes in their quest for Olympic glory.
