Indian badminton star PV Sindhu defeated Kristin Kuuba of Estonia 21-5, 21-10 in the women’s singles Group M match at the Paris 2024 Olympics on Wednesday. With this win, Sindhu secured her spot in the round of 16.

Sindhu, currently ranked 13th in the BWF world rankings, started strongly by winning eight consecutive points in the first game against world No. 73 Kuuba. Although the Estonian showed more resistance in the second game, she could not keep up with Sindhu’s pace and intensity. The match concluded in 34 minutes at the La Chapelle Arena.

Sindhu may face He Bingjiao, a Youth Olympics champion, in the pre-quarterfinals. Notably, Sindhu had previously defeated He Bingjiao to win bronze at the Tokyo Olympics.

Score: PV Sindhu (IND) defeated Kristin Kuuba (EST) 21-5, 21-10 in the women’s singles Group M match and advanced to the round of 16.
