India thrashed Bangladesh by 10 wickets at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on Friday to reach their ninth Women’s Asia Cup final.
Pacer Renuka Thakur jolted Bangladesh with an early burst, taking three wickets during the Powerplay, as India restricted the opposition to 80/8 in 20 overs. Renuka bowled a straight four-over spell, finishing with figures of 4-1-10-3, while Radha Yadav picked up three wickets. In the chase, Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma comfortably reached the target inside 11 overs, with Mandhana leading the way with a well-crafted half-century.
Bangladesh skipper Sultana fought a lone battle as regular wickets hindered her side after she had won the toss and opted to bat first against Harmanpreet Kaur’s team.
